Why you should brush deciduous teeth
This question has a few answers:
First, it is important to practice good oral hygiene habits in our childhood- it will help us maintain a healthy routine with our permanent teeth.
Second, caries or "cavity" can lead to discomfort and an unpleasant look.
Moreover, caries is infectious- one tooth can infect an adjacent tooth, thus hurting more teeth. In cases where the cavity is not treated in time, the affected tooth can even hurt the permanent tooth bud inside the jaw.
When the permanent tooth erupts, replacing the deciduous tooth, it might be damaged or discolored.
This is why it is important to brush teeth, as soon as the first tooth erupts.
?Are candies allowed
Good question.
The simple answer is yes.
Still, there are a few things to keep in mind:
1. Non-sticky candies are preferable.
2. We recommend drinking a glass of water after eating candy, to slightly rinse the mouth.
3. It is better to eat candy once or twice a day- That way we don't provide the bacteria in our mouth constant supply of sugar. (It's better to eat a large chocolate bar at one time, than eating a piece every hour).
